He was born to Bruce and Debbie (nee Baggett) Slack on December 2, 1983 in Chester, Illinois.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.

Josh enjoyed camping and fishing. He was always the first to help a family member or friend.
