VERA J. WHITESIDE, 79, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away on 9:56 am, Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her residence.
She was born to the late Kermit and Dorothy (nee Burnett) Lewis on April 15, 1939 in Ava, Illinois.
Vera married Jesse Harry Whiteside on September 26, 1956 in Red Bud, Illinois; he survives.
She was a homemaker and also had an in-home daycare.
Vera had attended St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Red Bud, Illinois and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Waterloo, Illinois. She was also attended Adult Fellowship at St. Peter’s. She also helped with the Youth Group and Bible School at St. Peter’s.
Vera was instrumental in starting and also coached the youth softball league in the Red Bud area in the early 70’s.

It was Vera’s wishes to be cremated.
A Private inurnment was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
