EDWARD “EDDIE” H. SCHNEIDER, 90, of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, passed away at 3:44am, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, Illinois.
He was born to the late William H. and Esther Katherine (nee Brown) Schneider on May 30, 1928 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Eddie married Lorna (nee Stellhorn) Schneider on July 15, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.
He worked for the U.S. Corp of Engineer for over twenty years as a heavy equipment operator and then worked over twenty years at the Kaskaskia Lock & Dam as a lockman and maintenance man. He was a United States Korean War Army Veteran.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois. He was also a member of the American Legion #622 in Prairie du Rocher, IL.
He enjoyed being outdoors, from fishing, working on his farm, to gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
