Shirley Mae Cushman

SHIRLEY MAE CUSHMAN, 85, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 3:53 pm, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at her residence.

She was born to the late Fame C. and Ruth (nee Sutter) Miller on July 9, 1933 in Lovington, Illinois.

Shirley married Joseph J. Cushman, Jr. on October 28, 1950 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 24, 1982.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Ann’s Nursing Home in Chester, Illinois.

Shirley was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also very proud of representing Chester as Popeye Queen in 1983.

Preceded in Death by : Parents, Husband, 3 Sisters – Dorothy Faye Reed, Evelyn Glover and June Miller, and 2 Brothers – Eugene and Charles Miller

It was Shirley’s wish to be cremated. Private services will be held at a later date.
