Kenneth A Batten, Sr.

November 25, 1940 — March 22, 2018

KENNETH A. BATTEN, SR., 77, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:08 pm, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

He was born to the late Herschel and Ida Elizabeth (nee Cato) Batten on November 25, 1940 in Broseley, Missouri.

He married Donna Canady on September 19, 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri; she survives.

Kenneth worked at Spartan Printing in the press room for 26 years. He had also worked as a truck driver for Rollet Brothers for 3 years.

He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church in Rockwood, Illinois. He enjoyed going to church. Kenneth was a Boy Scout leader in DuQuoin, Illinois. He also taught karate and was a leader in Explorer Scout. He liked listening to classic country music and going for car rides to look for deer. Kenneth also enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, and working on motorcycles with his son.
