John Michael Otten

JOHN MICHAEL OTTEN, 41 , formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home in Rockford, Illinois .

He was born to Donald and Brenda (nee Amschler) Otten on June 12, 1976 in Red Bud, Illinois.

John worked in engineering.  His work for Motorola took him to China, Germany and Mexico.  Some of his projects were: OnStar for the Cadillac Division of General Motors and Mercedes-Benz, the 2014 Dodge truck transmission – he corrected the shifting problem, while working for National Testing Services in Rockford he was working on the backup generator for a fighter plane, the noise in an MRI machine and had just finished testing the computer in the wing flaps of a fighter jet, soon to be released.

John’s greatest passion was spreading the word of God’s love and salvation and his son, Noah.

Preceded in death by :  Paternal Grandparents – Michael & Shirley Otten, Maternal Grandfather – Marvin Amschler, 1 Brother – Patrick Otten, and 1 Aunt – Christine Otten

It was John’s wish to be cremated.
