Ezekiel Brooks Neptune , of Red Bud, Illinois, went to live in his heavenly home at 10:34 pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born to Dan and Jen (nee Mueth) Neptune, of Red Bud, at 4:49 pm on January 23, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, where he was baptized in his faith by Sister Janet Crane, SSND. He weighed 2 lbs. 4 oz. and was 12.5 inches long.

Surviving besides his parents are: Maternal Grandparents: Hal and Kathy Mueth of Red Bud; Paternal Grandparent: Dave Neptune of Hillsboro, MO; Maternal great grandparent: Edith "Tommy" Mueth of Red Bud, IL; and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends from Mercy Hospital. Ezekiel was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Carol Neptune.

Ezekiel, meaning God strengthens, was diagnosed with Limb Body Wall Syndrome, a fatal condition, at 20 weeks and was not expected to live long after birth. Through the power of prayer and his fighting attitude, he was born at 30 weeks and survived close to six hours during which he touched many lives in his brief but meaningful life.

A private memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ruma, IL with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial will be at Gilbert Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for pro-life efforts.
