Lawrence "Pete" D. Hittmeier

LAWRENCE “PETE” D. HITTMEIER, 75, of Chester, Illinois, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born to the late Orville and Bertha “Boots” (nee White) Hittmeier on September 25, 1942 in Litchfield, Illinois.

Pete married Patricia “Pat” Kingery on March 2, 1979 in Decatur, Illinois; she survives.

Pete had been a teacher and coach.  He taught a various school throughout Illinois.  He came to Chester in 1983.  He taught history and health at Chester High School. In the later years, he taught 4th grade at Chester Grade School.  During his teaching career, he also coached baseball, basketball (both girls and boys) and football.  He retired from teaching in 2007.

Pete was an avid golfer and was a member of the Chester Country Club.  He was also a member of the Randolph County Retired Teacher Association.
