MICHAEL T. SAUERHAGE, 50, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 11:27 pm, Friday, January 5, 2018 at his residence.

He married Cheryl Rahlfs on June 17, 1995 in Chester, Illinois; she survives.

Michael had worked as a Band Director for 16 years. He worked for Chester High School, Greenfield High School, and Gillespie High School.

His passion was music. He also enjoyed hunting, composing music, and barbequing. He was a fan of Star Wars and Star Trek.

He was a new member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie, Illinois; prior to that he was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Illinois. He was a past member of the Lion’s Club and a past President of the Greenfield Club. He was also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi.
