H. Lloyd Mansker

October 22, 1922 — November 17, 2017

H. LLOYD “TOAD” MANSKER, 95 , of Sparta, Illinois, formerly of Rockwood, passed away at 1:15 am, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois.

He was born to the late Noah Edward and Mary Louise (nee Warren) Mansker on October 22, 1922 in Perryville, Missouri.  He grew up on a farm in Rockwood, Illinois.  He spent many years living in Rockwood where he raised his family surrounded by extended family members and friends.

He married Roxie Marie Asbury in July of 1946.  After his marriage of 31 years to Roxie ended, Lloyd later met and married Carol Weathers of Murphysboro, Illinois.

Lloyd was very proud to serve this country that he loved in the United States Army Air Force during WWII.

During his years of employment, Lloyd worked with a crew on the Mississippi River, and also had worked as a heavy equipment operator.  However his heart was in farming, hunting and just living in the country.

He was a member of VFW Post #3553 and also a member of American Legion Alva Courier Post #487 both in Chester and the International Union of Operating Engineers.
