Mary Ellen Atchison

MARY ELLEN ATCHISON, 73 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 7:53 am, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Manor at Craig Farm in Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late Wilbur and Vivian (nee McConkey) Rader on March 31, 1944. After her father’s death, she was raised by her mother and step-father Louis Maes.

She married Paul Robert Atchison on May 1, 1965 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.

Before her marriage, Mary Ellen was a substitute teacher. After she was married she was a homemaker, child care provider and an Avon representative. She also had worked at Lindsey’s Super Stop and had been a manager at Moto Mart in Chester.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. Mary Ellen was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Chester, Illinois
