FRANCIS W. MONTROY, 70, of Walsh, Illinois, passed away at 12:15 am, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his residence.
He was born to the late Frank and Florence (nee Sisson) Montroy on December 11, 1946 in Kankakee, Illinois.
He married Patti Sternberg on September 28, 1973 at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Walsh, Illinois; she preceded him in death on April 4, 2015.
He had worked as a Dairy Farmer and had also worked as Site Tech for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Walsh, Illinois. He was also a member of the Randolph County Farm Bureau and had served as President for the Sparta School Board from 1992-94. He enjoyed woodworking and working in his garden.
Francis served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post # 487 and V.F.W Post # 3553, both in Chester, Illinois.
