OMER “BILL” R. BERNDT, 76 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:34 pm, Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his residence in Chester, Illinois .

He was born to Ernest and Della (nee Criss) Berndt on May 2, 1941 in Chester, Illinois.

Bill was of the Lutheran faith.

He was a US Army Veteran.

Bill was retired from the railroad.

Survivors:
3 Children: Mary, Greg and Matthew
3 Sisters: Betty, Margaret and Myrtle
5 Grandchildren

Preceded in death by: Parents, 4 Brothers and 5 Sisters.

It was Bill’s wish to be cremated.

Private services will be held at a later date.
