Charles "Jack" Hargis

CHARLES ”JACK” HARGIS, 79, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:22 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

He was born to Grant and Elizabeth (nee Vaughn) Hargis on November 4, 1937 in Vienna, Illinois.

Jack married Mary Severs on December 15, 1956 in Mounds, Illinois. She survives.

He was a retired Chief Petty Officer for the US Navy.

Charles was of the Protestant Faith. He was a member of the VFW Post #3553 and American Legion Alva Courier Post #487 both in Chester, the NRA and the Mississippi Valley Gun Club.

It was Jack’s wish to be cremated.

A private service will be held at a later date.
