GAYLON R. MCCARSON SR., 76, of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, passed away at 7:43 pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.

He was born to the late Arville and Frieda (nee Little) McCarson on June 20, 1940 in Senath, Missouri.

He married Pauline Anderson on September 19, 1958 in South Carolina; she survives.

Gaylon was a prison guard at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois for 22 years. He enjoyed fishing and horseback riding. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Gaylon was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Red Bud, Illinois.
