Ruth E Koester

RUTH E. KOESTER, 89, of Red Bud, Illinois, formerly of Evansville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born to the late Sigmund and Clara (nee Rubach) Thies on September 7, 1927 in Wine Hill, Illinois.

She married Edwin Koester on April 20, 1947 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ruma, Illinois; he preceded her in death on June 15, 2002.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Evansville, Illinois and the Ladies Aid at church.  She enjoyed going to the Senior Center and Senior Circle.  She was an avid quilter and enjoyed playing cards.  She visited the sick at Garden Place, the Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
