Marjorie D Guenther

February 15, 1924 — May 13, 2017

MARJORIE D. GUENTHER, 93, of Red Bud, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, passed away at 8:30 pm, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Red Bud Regional Care, Red Bud, Illinois.

She was born to the late Roy F. and Nora (nee Koehler) Hicks on February 15, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri.

She married Adolph T. Guenther on October 12, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on June 12, 1993.

She was a former member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Cahokia, Illinois. There she played the organ for more than 50 years. She was also a leader of St. Catherine Laboure Kitchen Band; were she played the accordion.  She also had many good times with her TLC group.

Besides music being her greatest joy; she also loved to bake. She made countless number of wedding and birthday cakes over the years.  She also enjoyed sewing and making crafts.

In her later years, she moved to Red Bud, Illinois to be closer to family and join St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois.

She was very proud of her grandchildren and made many memories with each of them.
