James "Jim" R Shields

JAMES R. “JIM” SHIELDS, 75 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born to the late Lawrence and Margaret (nee Leinicke) Shields on November 15, 1941 in Murphysboro, Illinois.

He married Sharon Mueller on March 3, 1962 in Raddle, IL. She survives.

Jim was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus #3790 Chester, the Eagles Club Aerie #3252 Chester and the Chester Country Club. Jim was an avid Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois, St. Mary’s Cemetery Committee and ushered weekly on Sunday mornings.
