Thomas R. Karushis

THOMAS R. KARUSHIS, 90 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:01 am, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Integrity Healthcare in Chester, Illinois.

He was born to the late Thomas J. and Bernice (nee: Belskis) Karushis on September 6, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan.

He married Wilma Jean Mansker in May of 1956 in Ellis Grove, Illinois.  She survives.

Tom was a clothing supervisor at Chester Mental Health Center. He had attended Southern Illinois Univeristy at Carbondale, University of Illinois and Southeast Missouri State University.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellis Grove, Illinois, American Legion Alva Courier Post #487, Elks Lodge #1629, Eagles Club Aerie #3252 and was a member of the Musician’s Union – he once played with Bobby Vinton.
