WILLIAM FRANCIS PHILLIPS, 85, of Elkville, Illinois, passed away at 5:34 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.
He was born to Osa and Anna Ruth (nee: Childers) Phillips on March 13, 1931 in Grand Tower, Illinois.
He married Yvette DuPrey on July 5, 1958 in Fauville, Eure, France. She survives.
William was a retired veteran of the US Air Force and had also been a corrections officer at Menard Correctional Center.
He was a member of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Chester. He was a member of AFSCME Local #1175 and a Life Member of American Legion Alva Courier Post #487, V.F.W. Post #3553, Eagles Club Aerie #3252 and Elks Lodge #1629.
