Violet Mae Penford Chrisman

VIOLET M. PENFORD CHRISMAN, 97 , of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away at 10:45 pm, Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Red Bud Regional Care in Red Bud, Illinois.

She was born to the late Vernon W. and Elva Mae (nee Sassenger) Kempfer on February 25, 1919 in Roots, Illinois.

She married Leo B. Penford on March 2, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on February 19, 1979.  She then married Edward E. Chrisman on May 3, 1980 in Caseyville, Illinois; he preceded her in death on August 13, 1994.

She had been a cook at Chester Mental Health Center.

Violet was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellis Grove, Illinois; V.F.W. Auxiliary in Chester, Illinois; American Legion Auxiliary in Chester, Illinois; Senior Companion Program with SWIC for 35 years.
