Max Joseph Aubuchon

MAX JOSEPH AUBUCHON, 87, of Ruma, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

He was born to the late Lee and Barbara L. (nee Okenfuss) Aubuchon on April 12, 1928 in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois.

He attended grade school and high school at the “School for the Blind” in Jacksonville, Illinois. He continued his education, graduating from the University of Illinois at Champaign, Illinois with his Master’s Degree in Education.

Max was always self-supporting. His last position was at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City, Illinois, where he was employed as a Medical Transcriber for 31 years.

Max never let his blindness stop him or his endeavors. He was an avid bowler, loved baseball and music.

After retiring and moving to Red Bud, he made many new friends. He enjoyed going to the Red Bud Senior Citizen Center.  He never met a stranger.
