Janice "Jan" Springer

JANICE “JAN” SPRINGER, 64, of Johnsburg, Illinois, formerly of Belleville, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, Illinois.

She was born to the late George Frederick and Marie (nee Bertram) Hertlein on August 12, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri at Lutheran Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. She was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Louis and confirmed her faith at Messiah Lutheran Church in St. Louis.

She married Rev. Martin R. Springer on July 17, 1985 at Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville, Illinois; he survives.

She was an Elementary Teacher for Lutheran Elementary Schools. Her career spanned 40 years of faithful service. She served schools in Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana. She graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College (now Concordia University –Seward, NE,) and earned the Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri- St. Louis.

She was a member of the Community of Faith Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, Illinois.
