LELAND “LEE” PAUL KOCH, 80 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away peacefully after a long illness at 8:20 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Illinois.
He was born to the late Alfred Henry and Malinda Sophie (nee: Castens) Koch on April 3, 1935 in Steeleville, Illinois.
He married Edith Falkenberry on May 22, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.
Lee was retired from a career serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. After retirement, he studied aviation mechanics at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois, American Legion Alva Courier Post #487, a Life member of the National Rifle Association, an Associate member of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association and the Chief Petty Officer Association of the U S Coast Guard. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
