SISTER LINDA ANNE RANARD, ASC, 66 , of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, passed away at 9:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Ruma Convent, Ruma, Illinois.
She was born to the late Gayle and Lelia (nee Ensminger) Ranard in Fairfield, Iowa on M ay 28, 1949.
She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on June 20, 1976 and perpetual profession on August 15, 1981. She had been professed for 39 years.
Sr. Linda Anne earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1981 from Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania and her Master’s in Community Psychology in 1998 from Pennsylvania State University in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She also attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was working on her doctorate in Pastoral Community Counseling when she became ill.
Sr. Linda Anne held several administrative positions, including Village Administration Director at St. Anne Home for the Aged in Columbia, Pennsylvania; Assistant Director of the Maryhill Renewal Center in Pineville, Louisiana and Executive Director of the Kuumba Center, a retreat house in Alexandria, Louisiana.
She served as organist and liturgist at St. Ann home, the Columbia Center and later, at the Ruma Center. During her six years as an elementary teacher, she also served as organist at St. Jerome in Chicago, Illinois, St. Teresa in Albany, Georgia, St. Joseph in St. Louis, Missouri and Seven Sorrows BVM in Middletown, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her community service as organist and liturgist, Sr. Linda Anne served on the Provincial Administration as Treasurer of the former Columbia Province, Columbia, Pennsylvania.
Sr. Linda Anne is survived by her brother – Robert (Cathy) Ranard and her sister – Deborah (Doug) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sr. Linda Anne Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
