EVELYN MARIE HOLCOMB, 86, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:15 am, Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, Illinois. She was born to the late John and Flora (nee Bierman) Schulze on September 25, 1928 in Chester, Illinois. Evelyn married Ralph R. Holcomb on June 7, 1947 at Wine Hill, Illinois; he preceded her in death on February 2, 2005. She had work for the International Shoe Factory Chester, Illinois for 25 years and retired from Dorma, Steeleville after 25 years. Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Chester. She was an avid quilter. She loved to sew and play bingo and pinnacle. She enjoyed mowing grass and cooking.
