SISTER MARY MAURICE LOEPKER, ASC, 86, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, passed away at 12:28 am, Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Ruma Center. She was born to the late Joseph and Isabelle (nee Wichmann) Loepker in Bartelso, Illionis on January 18, 1929. She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 1, 1948 and perpetual profession on July 1, 1953. Sister M. Maurice spent her entire religious life as a medical professional. Her field included obstetrics and medical-surgical departments. She held the position of Charge Nurse at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. There she also served in the special care unit, the emergency room and the spiritual care department. She spent 17 years at St. Vincent (now Taylorville) Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, IL and 36 years at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, IL. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Louis University in 1954.
