ALBERTA SNELL, 95, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 12:15 am, Friday, June 12, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois. She was born to the late Walter E. and Elizabeth (nee Kaiser) Gregson on October 8, 1919 in Red Bud, Illinois. She married Hubert "Bert" Snell on September 2, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on August 7, 1951. She lived most of her earlier years in Chicago and had worked at the Erie Café. She moved back to St. Louis in 1975 and worked at the Black Forest Restaurant. She retired in 1982 and then moved back to Red Bud. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois; St. Ann's Altar Sodality and former member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She loved quilting, sewing, baking, bingo, and playing cards with her family. She looked forward to family gathering and going quilting. Alberta was a loving godmother and aunt. She was grandmother and great grandmother. She was our foundation and we could never give her more than she gave us. Our family was blessed to have her with us 95 years and she will be in our hearts forever.
