VIRGINIA "TOOTIE" LEE KEMPFER, 93, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away at 6:15 am, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois. She was born to the late Edward Lee and Clara (nee Wilson) Mathis on March 19, 1922 in Percy, Illinois. She married Leroy H. Kempfer on April12, 1944 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on May 8, 2004. She had worked at International Shoe Company in Evansville, Illinois and drove a bus for Zweigart Bus Company. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Evansville, Illinois. She was also a member of the Sparta Senior Center and the Evansville Senior Center.
