ALVIN E. DICKEY, 75, of Evansville, IL, passed away at 12:15 pm, Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, IL. He was born to the late Prentiss and Geraldine (nee: Gagel) Dickey on May 4, 1940 in Sparta, Illinois. Alvin married Janet M. McIntyre on July 15, 1961 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, IL. She survives. He was a truck driver for Gilster Mary Lee Corp and had worked for Ziegler Coal Mine. Alvin was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois. He was also a member of the Sparta VFW Post #2698, the Evansville American Legion Post #1172, Marine Corps League (past commander), an avid woodworker and worked diligently for Toys for Tots.
