BRIAN L. THIES, 64, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:14 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. He was born to the late Melvin and Melba (nee Weber) Thies on May 29, 1950 in Red Bud, Illinois. He had been a carpenter and co-owner of H & T Construction in Chester, Illinois. He then was a guard for Chester Mental Health for 21 years; until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester, Illinois. He was also a member of AFSCME, V.F.W. Post # 3553 in Chester, American Legion Post # 487 in Chester, Masonic Lodge #72 in Chester, Carpenters' District Council of Great St. Louis, Scottish Rite in Belleville and Ainad Shriners in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was a Navy Sea Bee Vietnam Veteran.
