BRIAN L. THIES, 64, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:14 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. He was born to the late Melvin and Melba (nee Weber) Thies on May 29, 1950 in Red Bud, Illinois. He had been a carpenter and co-owner of H & T Construction in Chester, Illinois. He then was a guard for Chester Mental Health for 21 years; until his retirement. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester, Illinois. He was also a member of AFSCME, V.F.W. Post # 3553 in Chester, American Legion Post # 487 in Chester, Masonic Lodge #72 in Chester, Carpenters' District Council of Great St. Louis, Scottish Rite in Belleville and Ainad Shriners in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was a Navy Sea Bee Vietnam Veteran. Survivors: His Special Friend & her children: Donna Glass of Chester, IL and her children - Jennifer (Darrell) Walls, Heather Sprengel and Daniel Tejada His Daughter Anna Katherine Thies Red Bud, IL His Sister Priscilla Glass Wentzville, MO His Grandchildren Jack Rabe, Marcus Oyer, Kai Myers, Kaden Freytag, Lily Tejada and Kale Sprengel His Nephew Jon (Sarah) Glass Ashland, MO His Nieces Jennifer (Scott) Cornett Wentzville, MO 6 Great Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death by: Parents and Brother-in-law - Peter Glass It was Brian's wish to be cremated.
