GLEN E. STERNBERG, 89, of Walsh, Illinois, passed away at 4:16 pm, Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born to the late William and Clemmie (nee:Harmon ) Sternberg on September 19, 1925 in Schuline, Illinois. He married Margaret E. Woll on October 23, 1948 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sparta, IL. She survives. Glen was a prominent dairy and grain farmer. The U.S. Department of Agriculture sent him to Europe to lecture on forages to improve their farming practices. He loved all aspects of farming and was very active with anything that had to do with it, including lecturing at SIU Carbondale, IL to the agriculture students. He was a member of the St. Pius Catholic Church in Walsh, IL. Glen was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #1952 in Evansville and the Randolph County Farm Bureau. He loved music and was a good singer. He learned to play the piano at age 75.
