ALVIN EDWARD JACOBS, 85, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 7:19 am, Friday, December 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born to the late Fred and Bertha (nee Prescher) Jacobs on December 13, 1928 at the home place in Renault, Illinois. He married Darlene Ann Piel on August 21, 1954 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault, Illinois; she survives. He has been a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Renault, Illinois, where he held many offices in the Men's Club. He was also a member of Lutheran Laymen's League, American Legion in Renault, Illinois and the Randolph County Farm Bureau. He had served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
