EVELYN LUCILLE RALEY, 86, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 5:50 am on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at The Manor at Craig Farms in Chester, IL. She was born to the late Edward and Ola (nee: Wheeling) Carnahan on December 11, 1927 in Farmington, MO. She married Harold Yankey on July 14, 1945 in Chester, IL who preceded her in death on April 26, 1957. She then married Herbert Raley on February 23, 1974 in Sparta, IL who preceded her in death on February 21, 1987. Evelyn was a retired cook. She worked at Memorial Hospital in Chester for 32 years and also at the Senior Center in Chester. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses in Sparta, IL. Survivors: 1 Daughter: Patricia (William) Lodge Steeleville, IL 3 Sisters: Marie (Dewey) Wilfong Chester, IL Barbara (Carl) Tiller Chester, IL Brenda (Wayne) Ramsey Chester, IL Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren survive Preceded in death by: Parents, 2 Husbands - Harold Yankey & Herbert Raley, 1 Son - Ricky Yankey, 4 Brothers - Edward C. Carnahan, James W. Carnahan, Charles Gene Carnahan and Paul D.
