JACQUES MARCEL CLEIMAN, 57, of Chester, IL passed away on Friday April 11, 2014, at his home in Chester, IL. He was born on July 31, 1956 in Chester, IL. Beloved son of the late Charles C. Cleiman II and A. Elaine Cleiman-Zemlyn (nee: Palmier). Dear brother of the late Charles C. Cleiman III and Lexia A. Cleiman; Loving uncle of Charles C. Cleiman IV and JaDana Elaine Talano (nee: Cleiman), Shawn R. Fleming and J. Maxwell Fleming; Great Uncle of Randin, Colton, Andrew and Samantha Cleiman; and Cousin of C. Cleveland Cleary and Georgia Hughes Fox. Jacques is the grandson of Marcel H. Palmier and Alma Hughes Palmier whom he adored. He died at this home suddenly of an apparent heart attack. He lived in the home built in 1901 by his great grandfather - John C. Hughes and Tillie Hughes (nee: Lohrding). He is the descendent of Andrew (Doc) Cleiman a prominent figure also in early Chester. Jacques loved his family intensely, had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and conservation; he deplored the wanton destruction of trees causing disfigurement of the landscape. He had a deep love for all God's creatures, and could not bear their suffering. He held steadfast to his Catholic faith. He continued an avid respect for the teachings of Fulton J. Sheen, Bishop. His boyhood friend, Father Jeffrey Moore, dedicated his Palm Sunday mass held in Switzerland to Jacques Marcel. He was a very strong man although he suffered for many years with pain due to a spinal injury. He served his country honorably for four years with the United States Marine Corps. Jacques had a great and tender heart, and leaves a huge void in the lives of those who loved him.
