ELAINE T. BAGSBY, 89, of Red Bud, Illinois, was called to her heavenly home at 6:03 am, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Red Bud Regional Care, Red Bud, Illinois. She was born to the late Henry and Lily (nee Kelly) Emmendorfer on March 19, 1924 in St. Louis County, Missouri. She married Claude M. Bagsby on May 29, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on November 29, 1996. Elaine lived a full life and loved working with people in her various jobs including office worker, restaurant employee, store clerk, and in-home child care provider. She was also recognized for her numerous volunteer services to her parish, Red Bud Nursing Home, adult literacy program, and second grade drug awareness program to name a few. She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois and St. Ann Council of Catholic Women. She was also a prayer associate for the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. Until losing her sight, she was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
