SISTER AGNELLA (AGATHA) STRATMANN, ASC, 88, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, died at 1:38 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the community's center in Ruma, Illinois. She was born to the late George and Christina (nee Luecke) Stratmann on September 28, 1925 in Vienna, Missouri. She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 1, 1943 and final profession on July 1, 1948. Sister Agnella served for 62 years as housekeeper, laundress, chauffeur and nurse aide. Her places of ministry included St. Teresa Academy, East St. Louis, Illinois (1943-49 and 1955-66); Catholic Children's Home, Alton, Illinois (1949-53); Loretto Home, Alton, IL (1966-73); Murphysboro, IL (1953-55); Clementine Residence, Red Bud, IL (1973-90); and the Ruma Center, Ruma, IL (1990-99).
