William "Bill" Johnson, 79, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:40 pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home in Chester, Illinois. He was born to the late Richard and Mollie (nee: Moss) Johnson on September 9, 1934 in Rockwood, Illinois. Bill married Alma Jean Smith on September 11, 1954. She preceded him in death on August 14, 1975. He then married Patricia Whitebear in 1976. She preceded him in death in July 1992. He then married Esther M. Nance Hartman on May 15, 1994 in Chester, IL. She survives. He had been a Truck Driver and worked in the oil fields of West Texas. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church in Rockwood, Illinois and the Chester Eagles. He was also an Army Veteran.
