BETTY E. DERICKSON, 79, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 9:25 am on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her home in Chester, IL. She was born to John James Shemoney and Ruby I. (nee: Lindsey) Shemoney Crawford on November 30, 1933 in Cora, IL. She married Frank E. Derickson on November 15, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas. He survives. Betty was a graduate of Gorham High School and Draughons Business College in Paducah, KY. She was employed by the State of Illinois for 35 years, ending her career as Personnel Director at the Chester Mental Health Center in 1990. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chester, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Chester Women's Club and the Red Hat Society. Upon her retirement, she served on the Board of Directors of the Randolph County Housing Authority for 20 years and the Board of Directors for the Chester Memorial Hospital for 23 years where she served as secretary.
