SISTER DOROTHY ANN AX, ASC, 87, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, died at 12:05 pm, Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the community's center in Ruma, Illinois. She was born to the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Willis) Ax in East St. Louis, Illinois on January 6, 1926. She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 1, 1942 and perpetual profession on July 1, 1947. Sister Dorothy Ann's primary ministry was a nurse; she served at Red Bud Regional (St. Clement's Hospital) from 1949-58, 1959-64, 1971-73; at Taylorville Memorial (St. Vincent's Hospital) from 1964-71, and at St. Ann's Home in Chester, Illinois from 1985-90. She also worked as gardener at the Ruma Center from 1973-83 and from 1990-2001.
