SISTER JULIA LENGERMANN, ASC, 89, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, died at 6:50 pm, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the community's center in Ruma, Illinois. She was born to the late Julius and Mary Clare (nee Brueggemann) Lengerman in Merino, Colorado on July 25, 1923. She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 1, 1940 and perpetual profession on July 1, 1945. Sister Julia ministered in health care as a nurse and nurse anesthetist at the former St. Clement's Hospital (Red Bud Regional) in Red Bud, Illinois (1945-50, 1952-59, 1963-82), at the former St. Vincent's Hospital (Taylorville Memorial) in Taylorville, Illinois (1959-61) and at St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois (1961-63). From 1982-1988, Sr. Julia worked as a clinic nurse in Grand Cess, Liberia, West Africa. She retired at the Ruma Center in 1997.
