DELBERT F. "CAPT" EGGEMEYER, 87, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:10 am on Thursday April 11, 2013, at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, Illinois. He was born to the late Alfred and Leona (nee: Brase) Eggemeyer on September 28, 1925 in Fort Gage, Illinois. Delbert was a retired River Boat Captain for Valley Line Company. He was of the Lutheran Faith. He was an Army veteran serving in WWII and was a member of the VFW Post #3553 and the American Legion Alva Courier Post #487. Survivors: Wife: Mary F. Eggemeyer Chester, IL 1 Daughter: Debbie Eggemeyer Chester, IL 1 Son: Bruce A. Eggemeyer Chester, IL 2 Brothers: Byron Eggemeyer Terre Haute, IN Glenn (Patricia) Eggemeyer Jasper, MO 2 Grandsons: Anthony Eggemeyer Kelly Eggemeyer Preceded in death by: Parents, 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers It was Delbert's wishes to be cremated and have a private burial at a later date.
