JAMES H. STEWART, 93, of Chester, Illinois passed away at 9:35 pm, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois. He was born to the late Eugene and Anna Mary (nee Rodewald) Stewart on November 10, 1919 in Cora, Illinois. He married Ruth B. Smith on September 28, 1946 in Chester, Illinois; she survives. James worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a carpenter. He helped build many bridges from St. Louis to Cario, Illinois. He then went to work at the Chester Mental Health Center as a Sargent. He also did maintenance at the V.F.W. Hall in Chester for many years. He had attended the Presbyterian Church in Rockwood, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion Post #487 in Chester and V.F.W. Post #3553 in Chester; where he was very active in the Color Guard and carried the American Flag in parades for many years.
