SAMUEL L. HALL, 84, of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away at 12:45 pm, Friday, March 22, 2013 surrounded by Family at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL. He was born to the late Dennis Leo and Rena Mae (nee McDonough) Hall on September 16, 1928 in Ellis Grove, Illinois. He married Norma Jean Seymour on September 9, 1950 in Ellis Grove, Illinois; she survives. Sam was an Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellis Grove, IL He was a Painter, Mechanic and all around Fix It Man in the Ellis Grove area. Sam lived his life doing what he loved to do, working with his hands. He spent most of his life climbing ladders, painting churches, barns, houses, working on engines and or generally helping folks with whatever they needed repaired. He also operated the Sunoco Service Station in Ellis Grove and Restaurants in Ellis Grove and Evansville and Hall's Service (Painting and Repairs). He enjoyed the fact that he passed his love of fixing and repairing items to his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed fixing things almost as much as he did drinking coffee with friends.
