He was born to the late Sterling and Stella (nee Simpson) Sneed on July 22, 1932 in Malden, MO. Russell married Necie Hicks on June 10, 1952 at Piggott, AR; she preceded him in death on April 25, 2011. Russell was a member of the Church of Christ, Red Bud, Illinois and the U.A.W. local #25 St. Louis, MO. He had worked at General Motors in St. Louis, MO for 23 years.
