SISTER MARY BENEDICT HAYDEN, ASC, 88, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, died at 4:00 am, Friday, February 15, 2013 at the community's center in Ruma, Illinois. She was born to the late Arthur and Mary Ann (nee Moore) Hayden in East St. Louis, Illinois on May 17, 1924. She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 1, 1942 and perpetual profession on July 1, 1947. Sister M. Benedict devoted many years to the educational ministry as a teacher. Some of the schools where she taught were St. Cecilia's in Bartelso, Illinois (1943-44, 1950-53, and 1982-2006); St. Bernard's in Albers, Illinois (1948-50); St. Mary's in Taylorville, Illinois (1962-68); and Holy Rosary in Fairmont City, Illinois (1973-81).
