DOLORES M. CLENDENIN, 101, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Chester Rehab and Nursing Center, Chester, Illinois. She was born to the late Andrew and Susanna (nee Jany) Sidick on September 14, 1911 at Chester, Illinois. Dolores married Arkell Clendenin on March 24, 1931 at Sparta, Illinois; he preceded her in death on April 18, 1993. Dolores was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois, where she was baptized, confirmed and made her solemn communion. She attended all 8 years of grade school at St. Mary's School, graduating in 1926. She then attended 4 years at Chester High School and graduated in 1930. She was also a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Altar Sodality and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #487, Chester, Illinois. Dolores had been a Sales Clerk at Lot-O-Savings Department Store in Chester, Illinois. Dolores was a kind, patient and devout person. She always relied on her faith to keep her going. No matter what you did for her, she would always "smile" and say "thank you".
