Janet S. Shipp, 65, of Jacob, Illinois passed away at 3:35 pm, Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.

She was born to late Edmund and Alta (nee: Mines) Gerlach on October 26, 1946 in Sparta, Illinois.

Janet was married to Rodney L. Shipp on May 22, 1999 in Percy, Illinois. He survives.

She was an accountant for the Department of Corrections. Janet was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester and AFSCME Local #1175.
