RAYMOND P. DANIELS, 67, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 12:39 am, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at his residence. He was born to late Norman E. and Clara (nee DeLisle) Daniels on March 26, 1945 in E. St. Louis, Illinois. He married Denise Wellman on July 24, 2004 at the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Red Bud, Illinois. She survives. He had been an engineer for Monsanto in Sauget, Illinois for 18 years. He had also worked at Children Miracle Network for 20 years. He was ordained in 1971 in the Evangelical and Reformed Church in East St. Louis, Illinois. He led a busy and interesting life. Raymond and Jack Hoforth started the first Bow & Arrow Club in Southern Illinois and he still shot his bow until his health started to decline. He loved and built many motorcycles. He traveled coast to coast, along with his wife, Denise, on their Gold Wing. He loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed all type of sports. He had the honor to play his dulcimer for President George H.W. and Barbara Bush at the 50 years Anniversary of Mt. Rushmore. Raymond also made the most beautiful oak reproduction furniture and had three pieces in the Smithsonian.
