Edward J. Siemers, 93, of Chester, IL, passed away at 2:45 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL. He was born to Edward C. and Leona (nee: Bockhorn) Siemers on July 16, 1918 in Randolph County, IL. He married Mildred Decker on November 10, 1945 in Chester, IL. She preceded him in death on February 13, 1989. Ed was a CLU and retired district manager with Prudential Insurance Company. He served in the Army from March of 1941 to October of 1945. He served in the various South Pacific Campaigns for 37 months. He was the First Sergeant of Company M 185th Infantry. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Chester, IL and a long time member of the Chester Rotary, American Legion Alva Courier Post #487 and was Past Commander, 40 & 8, and the VFW Post #3553 in Chester. He was an avid antique collector and restorer. He also loved gardening, fishing and going out to his farm where he and his mother were both born. The farm had been in his family since 1880. Ed Rowley Visitation: Wednesday, 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, 7:30 am - 9:00 am Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois Thursday, 10:00 am - 11:00 am St. John Lutheran Church, Bremen, Illinois Memorials: Peace Lutheran Church, Chester, Illinois Sparta Terrace Activity Fund, Sparta, Illinois A private burial will be held at a later date.
